As mobile operators roll out 4G services like LTE and WiMAX, microwave backhaul will play an increasingly important role in the network. Besides unprecedented levels of downloading via smart devices, users at the network edge are creating huge amounts of content and uploading it via cellular base stations and, by extension, severely loading the backhaul network. Microwave backhaul has already proven itself as a reliable and scalable technology to support this load, and many mobile operators are now taking an even closer look at the technology as a preferred alternative to laying fiber or leasing lines in planning 4G deployments.
In this panel discussion a system integrator specializing in turnkey solutions for the design, implementation, and maintenance of wireless infrastructure, will along with 3 mobile operators, examine strategies for evolving microwave backhaul to support the migration of their networks to 4G.
