This panel discussion will examine the need for small cells – why (and when) are femtocells required?   A status update on what has learned from today’s commercial 3G femtocell deployments  will be provided  The panel will also discuss prerequisites,  standards, ecosystem and  compelling consumer propositions for femtocells.

This session will explore the role of femtocells in LTE network deployments; both in-building and outdoor implementations.  Participants will learn about the importance and timing of residential, business and metro femtocells as well as femtocell applications – what they are, why they are important, and when we will see them.

Is LTE the solution to data congestion, or does it make the problem worse?   In this panel session participants will discuss the implications of femtocells, Wi-Fi and tiered data pricing as well as comparing the merits and exploring the business cases for different offload solutions.  The evolution and future of femtocell network architecture will also be explored.
