MOBILE BROADBAND – A BROADER ECOSYSTEM WITH GREAT EXPECTATIONS
By Andrew Mitchell, Editor 4G Trends, Content Director, 4G World
As announcements of intentions to proceed with, or actual deployments of LTE and WiMAX continue to emerge it might be less than obvious that carriers are increasingly facing challenges that go beyond investments in infrastructure. AT&T has announced its LTE vendors, a year almost to the day since Verizon Wireless did the same thing, and has chosen exactly the same RAN suppliers – Ericsson and Alcatel-Lucent.
